Alenka Sottler on her work: The ‘Head of Eurydice’ is one of my original works - sketches in classical tempera technique. It is a beautiful portrait of Eurydice, which began as a sketch and became an artwork in itself. It was created for the art book POEM FOR LYRA I. 2015, though it was never published there. Besides Eurydice, there is also a portrait of a harpy painted on a dark background; harpies were Greek mythological beasts which lived in caves. Two illustrations from this cycle were selected for SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS’ Annual Exhibition in the Museum of American Illustration in New York; one of these also won a GOLD MEDAL in 2016, in the ‘book illustration’ category.

The artwork is professionally framed using anti-reflective glass adhering to museum standards, signed by the artist, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
